Athena on the other hand represents the woman who became the father's daughter to survive the world. She is the conscious parts of ourselves that continue to punish the embodied feminine potentiating within us through negative self-talk, criticism and comparison. Poseidon, god of the sea, is representative of the force with which we feel the effects of patriarchy, as women, in an embodied, earthy sense as all as in a watery, emotional, soulful way. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePharmakon calls on us to reclaim our conscious faculties, that of wisdom and authority, by facing the monstrous parts of ourselves. This oil allows us to hold ourselves tenderly as we begin to integrate our bodies with our minds, to see ourselves as whole and worthy in our own right.
