The Psycho-Spiritual

Diana was deep in the woods, bathing with her nymphs in a pristine pool of water. It was during this intimate moment that the hunter, Acteaon, stumbled upon the goddess. After a day of hunting, he curiously followed the sounds of water splashing and laughter to this numinous sight. Diana spotted him and became enraged at the violation of her personal space. She set her sights on him and transformed him into a stag. As he ran in fear, trying to call out for help, his dogs caught his scent and hunted him down for their dinner. 

This mythology seems extreme as a practice in boundary setting, yet apt and powerful. We don't want prying bodies or energies to come into our space without our consent. We must remain aware of our energetic boundaries and be able to distinguish between what is ours and what isn't. And at the same time, we don't want our emotions to rule over us such that we react to life with unjust rage and blind arrogance. We must learn to allow our feelings to inform us about what we need to assert our autonomy and authority. From this delicate balance, sovereignty is achieved.
